Choose scroll saw blades to fit your style and purpose of sawing. Every person is different and will find scroll saw blades that they like better than another. Your scroll saw will also play a role in this decision. A general rule for scroll saw blade selection is to choose small blades #3/0 or #2/0 for marquetry. #5 blades are a great blade if you are just starting to scroll saw, they will make a good clean cut in a majority of materials. Top cut and crown tooth blades work best for sawing plastics and if you are sawing heavy hardwoods or saw aggressively you may like the precision ground and precision milled blades the best. Spiral scroll saw blades are great, but take a little getting used to. Blades that have reverse teeth will eliminate the tear out on the bottom of your work piece. Try a few different varieties of scroll saw blades to see which you like best.
